SERVICE TIPS FOR MOTORCYCLES AND SCOOTERS
WINTERIZE YOUR MOTORCYCLE AND SCOOTER
When you are storing your motorcycle or scooter it is very important to prepare it properly or you will have expensive repairs in the spring.
The most common issues that bikes have in spring is expensive carb or fuel injection rebuilds and dead batteries.
It is important to add stabilizer to the fuel. Most fuels have ethanol and this can become a problem. Make sure to add a stabilizer that contains ethanol treatment. We recommend Sta-bil brand Marine Formula with Ethanol treatment. It works! Follow the directions and make sure to top off your fuel before you store your bike.
Attach a Cycle Tender, Yuasa Smart Shot or Genie maintainer charger to you battery to prevent it from discharging during the winter months. These chargers will not over charge the battery unlike standard trickle chargers.
Other recommended procedures are to change oil/filter, check tire pressure, clean and polish your motorcycle or scooter.
These simple steps will save you a lot of time and money.
